  • Cassette + Digital Album

a further (and, perhaps, the most natural) way of listening to this album, on a homegrown, hand-dubbed cassette. for an album where demo copies were confined within the yellowing walls of plastic and disintegrating magnetic tape, it feels fair that others should be able to have a similar experience. the full 'family values' album will be included on this cassette, along with other audio nibblets because we make way too much noise. praise be. walking down the street, fingers crossed in his pocket as he passed someone he vaguely recognised. it's a force of habit, forces of habit were a force of habit to him. rarely taking into account what he is about to do. nothing seems to phase him. paint drying is the equivalent of grass growing and vice versa. so there he is, reminiscing over all the fond memories he had reconstructed down this very street. you say you will, i know you won't. you say you do, i know you don't. this just keeps going round and round and round and round... you'll never do what i had hoped. i tried to help, you just provoked. this just keeps going round and round and round and round... yards ahead lay a briefcase, with some sort of contorted bulge protruding from the centre. he opens it - and what many would consider visceral, was now conventional. for someone who calls themselves professional, he seemed very uneducated. he removes all of the ornaments from the case, placing them in a line as he tries to consider how this situation may have originally arose. then again, what's the point in knowing things if no one else knows what you do or you don't know? you say you will, i know you won't. you say you do, i know you don't. this just keeps going round and round and round and round... you'll never do what i had hoped. i tried to help, you just provoked. this just keeps going round and round and round and round... a vicelike grip around the throat. thought it would stop, but i was choked. this can't keep going round and round and round and round...

so full of love. approaching everyone within a five mile radius with open arms and bleached teeth - the same sort of white as that acrylic paint that is found all over derelict sheds. the type that is almost impossible to scrape off... after months of approaching the same task with gleaming optimism, a loss of excitement was becoming increasingly visible. confusion rises, becoming the surface level of all future congregations. the aching scraping of scuffed souls leaves red streaks smeared across the plastic stained linoleum. not a soul in sight. the man stands there. frozen. isolated. off the beaten track. oblivious to why no one wants to share his skinsuit...

take back what’s mine. you’ve had your chance. i’ve lost my way. i can’t ever go back… pray for your soul. escape your past. you’ll find your way. you don’t wanna go back… feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. pushing back the tide. pulling out the sides. desperation feeds on my cry. give back what’s mine. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. [i can't breathe...] feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. [i can't breathe...] feels like i'm never gonna breathe again. [you've taken all i have...]

it's a real mystery... it's as if i actually called my house, from within a dream... and sure enough, when i checked my mobile phone, the call logs say that i had called my house at 3:13. the only rational explanation i can think of...is that i sleepwalked all the way downstairs, turned on the tv, picked up my mobile and called my house and left the message... then i turned off the tv, put my phone back exactly where I left it, and walked back upstairs to bed...all without waking up... the only problem with this, is that i've never walked in my sleep before... and i woke up in my bed, midway through the dream phone call... which is precisely where the call ends on the answer phone message. the screaming voice is way too distorted to tell if it's my voice or not... but the background music is exactly what i heard in my dream.

about

[PLAYABLE AT ANY SPEED - MAXIMUM VOLUME YIELDS MAXIMUM RESULTS]

“it's a funny old world, isn't it - and, yet again, the orwellian generation have chosen to provide the soundtrack...with 12 tracks of dystopian electronica that attempt to envision our soon-to-be future. this album translates the horrors of our contemporary cultures and allows a tonic for the critical mind to be within reach, whilst still pondering the questions “what is truly real?” and “what should I believe?"

the album opens with the cinematic 'mutilation station', dragging the listener immediately into the orwellian world of screeching guitars and ritual-esque beats that continue to drive and force their way throughout the 40 minute duration. tracks like 'no through road' and 'human millipede' allow for a sense of cleansing, before sporadic repetitiveness throws the conscience back into a world built off of paranoia and discourse. 'skinsuit' and 'bovine remodelling' tell the listener how it is, with incessant dense riffs and sustained groaning pelts that replicate the sound of doxxers, hoaxers and auto-suggestion that has become all too common. all before the closer, 'marine debris', which allows for a tingling sensation of calm before the inevitable storm that can be heard working its way through the ambience - confronting the listener with brute force before the albums abrupt end.
